What to write about

  • A rule, number or source that looks wrong or out of date — tell us the page and, if you can, the official source. Confirmed corrections are shown on the page and logged with their date.
  • A broken link, a page that doesn’t work on your phone or with a screen reader, or a calculator that gives a result you can’t follow.
  • A privacy request (see the Privacy Policy) or a copyright notice (see the Terms of Use).

We read every message and reply within five business days. There is no phone number and no street address.

What we can’t help with

We can’t advise on your own case: whether your employer paid you correctly, whether your job is exempt, or what to put on your tax return. Your state labor department or the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (1-866-487-9243, dol.gov/agencies/whd) can; each state’s agency is linked in the overtime laws by state table. For taxes, ask the IRS or a tax professional.

Please don’t send pay stubs, time records, tax returns, Social Security numbers or your employer’s name: we don’t need them.
